Pete Sontag Wins His Second SAFARI! I also got the word about the SFDGC and the Presidio course out to the disc golf masses; read all about it in the Tournament News.

In other news, it has been a busy week out on the Presidio course. I am very pleased to say that all of the posts have stayed in the ground for over a week now, including the fourth of July weekend. That is a first. We have had a lot of new people come out and shoot the course, and we have gotten a lot of feedback =).

On Tuesday, Rob and Julian came out to check out the scene, they found us through the web, and decided that they wanted to play a little golf. Bob "Wig" Wigersma also made his his Presidio debut, and not a moment too soon. Edo was there, and we all had a grand old time. Wig has shot a lot of courses back in the Twin Cities area, so I was very flattered to hear him say, "I was impressed."

Rob and Julian had a good time too, considering it was the first time they had ever thrown "true" golf discs. I hope they make it out again, so we can get their drives a little longer, and thier putts a little more accurate ;-).

Wednesday was all-star day out at the course, with David Welty and Jeff Fiedler getting their first rounds at the Presidio in. David was as quiet as ever, so it was tough to gauge his reaction. I think he thought a few of the holes were a little too difficult, and the terrain maybe a little tough for walking on --that sand can wear you out.

Jeff had his mind made up before he shot the course, and was insistent from the get-go that it be re-mapped across Arguello, or all 18 be mapped out on the East side.

"Come help me do it" is what I kept telling him, but at the end of 18 I think I won him over. Over a slice of 'za he said, "You know, I think I like it...it is like you can see the pole, but you cannot take the direct line, so in a way you are shooting blind..."

Jeff, my friend, come out and shoot it again, and this time shoot at #17, not #10 off of the seventeenth tee =).

I have no computer at home any more, so my updates are going to be less frequent for a little while. Bear with me, because I have no intentions of bailing out on this now!
