7.8.98: The Safari is Filled:

As of 9:32am on July 8, 1998, the Safari has been completely filled! Entrants in every division ensure stiff competition at every level. The San Francisco Disc Golf Club has been working on the course for the last two weeks, etching flat tee pads in the ground on the holes. With a little luck, we will have the entire course done in time for a Friday evening shoot a round to take place at 6:00pm. Stay tuned here for more details later in the week...

The SFDGC is also donating $200.00 in cash to the tournament to be used as prize money, and while we are not up to 100% payback, this year's Safari should have the sweetest pot ever. All of you slackers who did not get your money in on time, let this be a lesson for you. This tournament is going to continue to grow, both in popularity and payout. That's a promise. The San Francisco and East Bay disc golf clubs are proud to present the 9th annual Safari Disc Golf Tournament on July 11th and 12th. This year's field is filling up fast, so if you want to compete you better contact tournament director Jeff Fiedler now. Jeff can be reached by calling (510)704-8811, or by email at Airware@msn.com.

We are currently working on ensuring 100% payback of fees in cash and prizes to all divisions. If we are able to hit all of our sponsor targets in the next week all of the money we receive in entry fees will be paid back to players in every division. This would be a large step for the Safari because of the inordinate amount of fees we must cover to use Golden Gate Park.

Entry fees are as follow:

Divisions Entry Fee NorCal/PDGA Total Fee*

Open $70.00 5.00 $75.00

Masters $70.00 5.00 $75.00

Women $55.00 5.00 $60.00

Am Masters $50.00 5.00 $55.00
