October, 1998: The Great City Assessment Project

The Parks and Rec. Department is now hosting the last round of community meetings for the Great Parks for a Great City Assessment Project. These are intended to gather citizens' suggestions for what should be done in and with the city's parks. Some of us attended the first round back in June and they were great opportunities to meet park staff (including the acting parks commissioner Joel Robinson) and make disc golf VISIBLE. I heard back later from Park staff that the department is impressed with our "polite persistence". Let's keep it up!

Please try to attend one of the following meetings. You do not have to attend the one in your neighborhood if you can't make it that night. Just attend one and insert the need for a disc golf course in San Francisco wherever you can (there will be plenty of opportunities). They're pretty interesting anyways and they have great catered food.
